Raaschova kuka

The illustration shows the result of a mathematical model that describes a problem known as Raasch hook. The hook-shaped beam is fixed on the left side and uniformly loaded in its plane. The deformed shape can be seen on the picture where the hook bends in the load direction and twists around its axis. How much the hook twists can be seen from the distribution of displacements where warm colours show displacements to the right and cold colours represent displacements to the left.
The solution of the model is sought by a numerical method in which the problem is divided into many smaller segments (triangles in this case) within which the simple law is defined that describes the relationship between displacement, stress and deformation, since this relation is very complex for the entire model. The solution of the model is sought in such a way to determine the displacements that correspond to the work of external and internal forces.
